Fake government job racket busted in Jammu & Kashmir

Srinagar police has busted a fake job racket by arresting three of its members. The gang was cheating innocent people of the state by promising them government jobs.

The gang also printed fake I-cards to authenticate their false claims.

Those arrested have been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Ganiae of Kulgam, Fayaz Ahmad Dar alias Aijaz of Pattan Baramulla and Sham Lal alias Manhas of Jammu.

They were arrested after duping some 18 people of approximately Rs 57 lakh.

Srinagar Police busted who were duping people by promising them jobs against huge cash payments.

Accordingly, three more persons identified as Bilal Ahmad Dar resident of Kralkhud, Arshad Ahmad of Sonwar and Abdul Jabbar Hajam of Kupwara are linked with the scam and are being searched for.

These three person were working as motivators who would entice gullible unemployed youth for Governments jobs against huge sum of rupees. After receiving money, they used to arrange their meeting with Mushtaq, Fayaz and Sham Lal who would pose themselves as senior officials working in Secretariat. The candidates after paying money would receive appointment letters of different departments like Forest, Health, J&K Bank and Agriculture Department.

Police is looking for four more persons who are believed to be the masterminds in the scam and are evading arrest. Srinagar police has also raided a documentation centre in HMT area of the Srinagar city where fake appointment letters, I-Cards etc were being printed. The computer centre owner was arrested and all the material used for printing has been seized. The investigation of the case is still going on and more arrests are expected.
