The world’s highest railway bridge is gradually taking shape. It could be ready earlier than your expections. The bridge, enough to be considered an engineering marvel in the world, is 35 metre taller than the Eiffel Tower. Trains would be able to run with speeds as high as 100 kmph.

Spanning between Koudi and Bakkal villages of district Reasi, the bridge is 1.3 km long. This project has been declared a national project in 2002. It is directed by the Northern Railway.
The bridge will be 419 metre tall from the base.

The construction has been given to Afcons Infrastructure Limited, a part of the Shapoorji Pallonji Group, the third-largest construction group in India.
Once completed, the bridge will be a critical link connecting Kashmir to the rest of India. Its construction is expected complete by July 2019.
