First High-Level Meeting After April 22 Attack
This meeting, held at the Prime Minister’s residence, lasted for approximately 30 minutes. It was the first interaction between the two leaders since the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that left 26 people dead, most of them tourists.
Public Outrage and Spontaneous Protests
During the meeting, Omar Abdullah briefed the Prime Minister about the ground situation in the valley, highlighting the widespread outrage and grief among the public. Citizens have held spontaneous protests across Jammu and Kashmir to express their strong condemnation of the violence, which was the first major terror attack in the region since the insurgency began in 1989.
Tribute to Local Hero Syed Adil Hussain Shah

Concerns Over Tourism and Amarnath Yatra
The Chief Minister discussed the serious impact of the attack on Kashmir’s booming tourism sector, as well as the security arrangements for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, scheduled to begin on July 3.
The annual pilgrimage will proceed along two routes:
- Traditional 48-kilometre Pahalgam route in Anantnag district
- 14-kilometre Baltal route, a steeper but shorter path in Ganderbal district
Unanimous Assembly Resolution Against Terror
