The Jammu and Kashmir Government has extended the summer vacation for all Government and recognised private schools across the Union Territory until July 26, 2026.

Education Minister Sakina Itoo announced on X that the extension will now also include schools in the Summer Zones of Jammu Division. Earlier, the order applied only to schools in the Kashmir Division and the Winter Zones of Jammu Division.

With this latest decision, all Government and recognised private schools across Jammu and Kashmir will remain closed till July 26. Schools will reopen on Monday, July 27, 2026.
The Minister said the decision was taken after reviewing the current weather conditions. She said the safety of students, teachers, and their families is the Government’s top priority.
She also urged people to stay alert, follow weather advisories, and obey safety guidelines issued by the authorities. She wished everyone good health and safety during the ongoing bad weather.
