The Bhairo Dev Jhanki is a traditional ritualistic procession in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, organized by the Pahari Tribe. During Holi, members of the tribe return to Rajouri to seek blessings from Bhairo Baba, a sacred visit to their ancestral land. The tradition has evolved into a meaningful ritual reflecting the tribe’s reverence for their spiritual heritage and the sacred bond they share with their ancestral land. The origins of the Bhairo Dev Jhanki are shrouded in mystery, but it is believed to have originated from a famine in Rajouri. The Jhanki is celebrated with devotion in Rajouri City and Jawhar Nagar, marking the start of the seven-day Holi celebrations.Wish you a very happy and colourful Holi!
