The melodious Dogri song “Tumba Ta Bajda”, sung by renowned Bollywood playback singer Kailash Kher, has been released to great applause. The song, penned by celebrated lyricist Padma Shri Mohan Singh and composed by Brij Mohan, carries the rich cultural essence of Dogra heritage.
The production of the song was undertaken by the Senior Support Service Club (SS Club), Chowadi, Jammu, a unique initiative conceived by social activist Usha Gupta and Dr. Kasturi Lal. Their mission is to preserve and promote the Dogri language and culture through music and art.
In September 2025, the Senior Citizens SS Club, Chowadi, hosted a grand cultural evening at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu, marking the release of three new Dogri songs. The event brought together the soulful voices of Bollywood legends like Anup Jalota and Kailash Kher, adding nationwide appeal to the regional language.
The songs were beautifully written by Mohan Singh and Yash Pal Yash, with music composition by Brij Mohan, creating a powerful blend of tradition and modernity.
The cultural program not only showcased these musical gems but also honored several personalities for their invaluable contribution to preserving and promoting Dogra culture. The evening turned into a celebration of language, heritage, and identity, with performances that highlighted the vibrancy of Dogri art and literature.
