Terms and Conditions of Service:

The terms and conditions of service are prescribed in the aforementioned Act and the rules made thereunder. Some key terms and conditions are as follows:

1. The term of office for the Chairperson and Members shall be three years from the date they assume office or until they reach the age of 65, whichever is earlier.
2. During their tenure, the appointed individuals shall not hold any other office.
3. The Chairperson is entitled to a salary and allowances equivalent to those of a Principal Secretary to the Government or the salary and allowances last drawn in government service, whichever is higher.
4. A Member is entitled to a salary and allowances equivalent to those of a Chief Engineer or the salary and allowances last drawn in government service, whichever is higher.
5. If the Chairperson or Member is in receipt of a pension from previous government service, their salary shall be reduced by the amount of that pension.
6. Before assuming office, the Chairperson and Members must take an oath of office and secrecy as prescribed.
7. The Government may remove the Chairperson or Member from office by order, in accordance with the provisions.
