The Meteorological Centre in Srinagar has issued a weather alert for Jammu & Kashmir, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and flash floods in several districts from July 21 to 24.

According to Mukhtar Ahmad, Director of the MeT Department, “The weather system is expected to impact the entire region,” with a risk of landslides, mudslides, shooting stones, and surface runoff.

  • Rajouri: 100 mm
  • Jammu: 62.9 mm
  • Poonch: 65 mm

  • Light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds expected in many places.
  • Intense showers & very heavy rain likely at isolated to scattered locations, especially in Jammu Division.
