Omar Abdullah could arguably be called as the most popular social media user of our state. The former Chief Minister of the state has been nominated by the Outlook Social Media Awards in the OSM politician of the year category. The awards are sponsored by India’s top magazine the Outook.
Describing Omar, the magazine writes
Formerly, the youngest Chief Minister of J&K, and currently, MLA from Beerwah, Budgam – the Gateway to Gulmarg, Omar has always been one of the strongest voices drawing the Centre’s attention to Kashmir. The fervour and gumption with which he addresses the Legislative Assembly are also evident in each Tweet on his Timeline.
Regarding the nomination, Omar expressed his disbelief in his signature satirical style as
It’s not the winning or losing that matters, the thrill is in just being nominated. (Gotta say this since I never win these things 😄). https://t.co/xHotCrgEEK

Other nominees in the category are Rahul Gandhi, Smriti Irani, Baijayant Jay Panda and Derek O’Brien. Sadly, Omar is lagging far behind Rahul Gandhi and Derek O’Brien by only 4% votes in his favour as of now. If the people of J&K, wish to see Omar Abdullah as winner, one can vote by clicking here.
