SSC ASO Recruitment 2026 notification for 341 Assistant Section Officer vacancies with eligibility and exam details

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the SSC ASO Recruitment 2026 Notification for Assistant Section Officer (ASO) / Assistant Grade Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) 2025.

A total of 341 vacancies have been announced under the Central Secretariat Service (CSS) and Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). Interested and eligible departmental candidates can submit applications through the official SSC portal before 16 July 2026.

This recruitment is exclusively meant for in-service government employees fulfilling departmental eligibility requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

For CSS Candidates

Applicants must:

  • Be serving in Upper Division Grade of Central Secretariat Clerical Service
  • Complete 6 years of approved service as of 1 July 2025

For MEA Candidates

Applicants must:

  • Be serving in Upper Division Clerk Grade
  • Complete prescribed departmental training
  • Complete 6 years approved service

Who Cannot Apply?

Candidates may become ineligible if:

  • They resign after application
  • Service is terminated
  • They move permanently to another cadre without retaining lien

Selected candidates will receive salary under Pay Level-7 of the 7th Pay Commission.
