The Directorate of School Education, Jammu, has announced the partial reopening of government and private schools in five districts of the Jammu Division, effective May 15, 2025. However, educational institutions situated in close proximity to the International Border (IB) and the Line of Control (LoC) will remain closed as a precautionary measure.
Director School Education, Naseem Choudhary, has issued a detailed list specifying the areas within the districts of Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Poonch, and Rajouri where schools will either reopen or remain closed.

The official order mandates that zonal education officers ensure strict adherence to the guidelines issued by the School Education Department and other relevant authorities concerning the safety and well-being of students and staff within their respective jurisdictions.
Heads of all concerned institutions are directed to ensure the smooth and orderly resumption of academic activities. They are also instructed to maintain close coordination with the local administration and law enforcement agencies.
The Directorate of School Education Jammu has announced that all Government and recognized private schools in the Jammu Division that are yet to reopen will resume classes from May 19, 2025.

Accordingly, the Zonal Education Officers have been asked to ensure strict adherence to safety guidelines, while heads of institutions must ensure smooth conduct of academic activities in coordination with local administration and law enforcement agencies.
