Tensions soared across Jammu & Kashmir early Saturday morning after multiple explosions were reported in Jammu city, just hours after the Indian military successfully neutralized drone attacks launched from Pakistan. According to online media reports, the blasts occurred near, Nagrota, Rehari, Samba, Digina prompting emergency sirens and widespread panic.
As the explosions echoed through the city, power outages were reported not only in Jammu but also across large parts of the Jammu & Kashmir. Internet connectivity also faced disruptions in some areas.
Shambhu Temple Targeted in Jammu
Adding to the escalating crisis, Pakistani forces reportedly targeted the revered Shambhu temple in the Jammu region, drawing sharp condemnation from local communities. The attack is being viewed as a direct provocation and an attempt to incite communal unrest.
Local leaders have termed the attack on the temple as “an assault on India’s spiritual heritage,” calling for a united response to the continued ceasefire violations by Pakistan.
ADC Rajouri Killed in Shelling
In a tragic development, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Rajouri, Raj Kumar Thapa, was killed in cross-border shelling early Saturday. According to officials, an artillery shell fired by Pakistani forces struck his residence, critically injuring him and two of his staff members.
Thapa was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The condition of the other two officials is reported to be critical. The targeted attack on a senior administrative official marks a dangerous escalation in the ongoing hostilities.
Schools Closed Amid Escalating Tensions
In response to the volatile situation, authorities have ordered the closure of multiple educational institutions across Jammu & Kashmir. District administrations have advised residents to stay indoors and avoid non-essential travel.

The situation along the India-Pakistan border remains fluid and dangerous, with both countries reportedly mobilizing forces. The Ministry of Defence is expected to release an official statement shortly.
