This achievement marks a significant milestone, as Ekta becomes the first from Jammu and Kashmir to take on this prestigious role.

Hailing from Akhnoor in Jammu district, Ekta is a leading cadet of the NCC’s First Jammu and Kashmir Naval Unit. She is also a dedicated Bachelor of Science student at Gandhi Nagar Government College for Women.

A Moment of Pride for Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh

Early Inspiration from a Family Legacy

Ekta’s inspiration to serve the nation stems from her father, a retired soldier of the 12 Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry. Her early education at Army Public School in Akhnoor further strengthened her passion for the armed forces, eventually leading her to join the NCC during her college years.

Her remarkable dedication has culminated in her selection as the Parade Commander for the All India Girls’ Contingent—a role she describes as the proudest moment of her life.

In her words, “This achievement belongs to my family, my NCC unit, and the entire Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh region.”
