The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has officially announced a 3% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for all pensioners and family pensioners, increasing the rate from 55% to 58% of the basic pension or family pension.

According to a recent order issued by the Finance Department, this revised DA rate will come into effect starting July 1, 2025. The decision aims to offset inflation and provide financial relief to retired employees across Jammu and Kashmir.

The government further stated that the arrears for the months of July, August, and September 2025 will be disbursed in cash during October 2025. After this period, the enhanced DA will be automatically added to the monthly pension payments, ensuring timely benefits for all eligible pensioners.

Additionally, the existing rules governing the payment of Dearness Allowance will continue to remain unchanged, the order clarified.

This 3% DA increase for J&K pensioners aligns with the government’s ongoing efforts to support retired employees and their families, helping them cope with the rising cost of living.
