In a powerful convergence of yogic tradition and engineering excellence, the District Administration of Reasi celebrated the 11th International Day of Yoga 2025 with a remarkable yoga session held atop the Chenab Rail Bridge, the highest railway bridge in the world.
This iconic event brought together officers from the civil administration, Northern Railway, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), local residents, and passionate yoga practitioners against the breathtaking backdrop of the Chenab Valley.

The high-altitude yoga session symbolized the spiritual and physical elevation that yoga offers.
Chenab Rail Bridge: India’s Engineering Marvel
Inaugurated on June 9, 2025, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chenab Rail Bridge stands as a beacon of national progress and infrastructure excellence. Spanning 359 metres above the riverbed, the bridge is not only a marvel of design but also a critical strategic and logistical asset.
Designed to endure seismic shocks and extreme wind speeds, the bridge significantly boosts rail connectivity between Jammu and Srinagar, effectively integrating the Kashmir Valley with mainland India via rail for the first time in history.

“Yoga for One Earth, One Health”: A Message of Global Harmony
This year’s theme — “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” — underscores the intrinsic link between human health and planetary well-being. Drawing inspiration from the ancient Indian principle of “Sarve Santu Niramaya” (May all be free from disease), the theme aligns with India’s broader vision of universal wellness.
The message is especially timely in a post-pandemic world where holistic health and environmental consciousness are more vital than ever. By practicing yoga in such a pristine, natural setting, participants highlighted the synergy between inner peace and environmental harmony.
Nationwide Celebrations of the 11th International Yoga Day
Across India, millions gathered to observe International Yoga Day 2025, reaffirming yoga’s role in physical fitness, mental clarity, and emotional balance. From Himalayan villages to coastal cities, yoga mats were unrolled in public parks, schools, offices, and iconic locations — but none as awe-inspiring as the Chenab Rail Bridge.
The celebration of Yoga Day on the Chenab Rail Bridge not only honored the ancient wisdom of yoga but also showcased India’s ability to merge tradition with innovation. As yoga gains recognition globally, such events reinforce India’s message of peace, health, and unity through the power of yoga.
