Districts on High Alert
According to the forecast, heavy rainfall is expected in the following districts:
- Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Reasi, Udhampur, Rajouri, Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar
- Southern parts of Kashmir Division
Some areas may experience intense thunderstorms and gusty winds, increasing the risk of damage to loose structures and flooding in low-lying zones.
Flash Floods, Cloudbursts & Landslides Risk
The weather department has highlighted the possibility of:
- Cloudbursts in hilly regions
- Flash floods in streams and rivers
- Landslides and mudslides in vulnerable areas
- Waterlogging in towns and cities

Snowfall Expected in Higher Reaches
Apart from rain, light snowfall is expected over higher mountain ranges, including:
- Kishtwar, Sinthan Top, Margan Top, Zojila, Gumri Axis
- High-altitude areas of Pahalgam and Shri Amarnath Ji Holy Cave
- A few higher reaches of Bandipora
This sudden weather shift could impact road connectivity and pilgrimage routes.
