Security drills are scheduled to be conducted on Thursday across the border districts of states neighbouring Pakistan, according to television reports. These include Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Jammu and Kashmir.

The upcoming exercises come in the wake of Operation Sindoor, a bold military initiative launched by India on May 7, which targeted terror launch pads across the border in Pakistan. This operation marks the first large-scale mock drill initiative since the 1971 war.
As per defense analysts, three key objectives—political, military, and psychological—were effectively achieved through the precision strikes, demonstrating India’s enhanced counter-terror capabilities and strategic intent.
