After Srinagar, the Tulip Garden at Sanasar has now become an attraction for tourists and nature lovers.

Amid the captivating landscape and beauty with snow-clad Nathatop peak in the backdrop, Sanasar is witnessing an unusual rush of visitors.“I had seen the Tulip Garden in Srinagar on TV and had a desire to visit there. However, when I got to know about the Tulip Garden at Sanasar, I immediately decided to visit there from Patnitop,” said Dineh Pandey, a tourist from Kanpur.

There are no time restrictions and no fee is being charged from the tourists for visiting the garden.Sanasar is a famous hill resort of Jammu province situated about 19 km from the famous tourist spot of Patnitop.

According to sources, around 18,000 flowers have been grown in a terrace bed and 4,000 in another lower bed at the garden for the second consecutive year. The garden has been set up on 4 kanals adjacent to the Sanasar lake.

“This year, only red, yellow and white tulips have been grown here. However, from the next year, more flowers of various colours are expected to be added,” said Mohammed Amin Wani, a gardener.He said the tulips were expected to survive for about a month only. “Also, they bloomed about a week earlier as compared to last year due to warmer winter this year,” Wani added.
