The historic town of Basohli in Kathua is alive with colours, music, and devotion as the third edition of Basohli Utsav has begun with great enthusiasm. Organised by the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Divisional Administration, Jammu, and the Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts (IGNCA), the festival was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Shri Manoj Sinha.
- Basohli Utsav has now become a part of the annual cultural calendar of J&K, celebrating the region’s rich cultural, artistic, and religious heritage.
- The town has been beautifully decorated with Basohli art murals, grand welcome gates, and well-prepared event venues such as Ramlila Ground, Rani Ka Talab, TRC, and the iconic Atal Setu.
- The festivities will continue until Vijayadashami, making Basohli a vibrant hub of activity and tradition.
Basohli Ki Ramlila – The Spiritual Soul of the Utsav
The world-famous Basohli Ki Ramlila, which began a few days earlier, has already filled the town with religious fervour.
- Devotees and tourists from across Jammu, Kashmir, and neighbouring states are gathering to witness the grand enactments of the Ramayana.
- Each scene brings alive the timeless epic with vivid storytelling and captivating performances, leaving the audience spellbound.

Navratra Festivities & Cultural Programmes
Alongside Ramlila, Basohli is immersed in Navratra celebrations, featuring:
