The Directorate of School Education Jammu has ordered the closure of all government and private schools across the Jammu Division on August 25 due to inclement weather conditions.

In a related development, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has also announced the postponement of Class 10th and 11th examinations scheduled for August 25 across J&K and Ladakh.
According to an official statement issued by JKBOSE, the decision was taken in view of the prevailing severe weather. “The new dates for the postponed examinations shall be notified separately,” the statement said.
Whereas, the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) on Sunday cancelled the OMR-based written examination for the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical), Power Development Department, which was held earlier in the day. In a notice issued by the Controller of Examinations, JKSSB said the test, originally scheduled at 35 centres in Jammu and Srinagar, was successfully conducted at 34 venues but could not be held at one centre due to weather-related exigencies.
“Accordingly, the Board has decided to cancel the examination conducted on 24.08.2025 and the same shall be conducted afresh,” the notification reads, adding that the new date will be announced separately.
