While voices are being raised asking for a separate Jammu state and abrogation of the Article 35A (which helps identify Permanent Residents of the state), a more suitable and less drastic solution, which is acceptable to all the political parties of the state, is not brought to light.
The solution lies in giving regional autonomy to the three regions of the state. Recently Pradesh Congress Committee head Sham Lal Sharma and Provincial President of National Conferene, Devinder Rana has raised the demand for it. It is hard to believe that even state BJP seems to concur with their arch rivals Congress and NC.
With Regional Autonomy, the three divisions of the state will get regional autonomous councils with legislative, administrative and financial powers.
