The theory examinations for paramedical and nursing courses in Jammu and Kashmir are scheduled to take place in February. These exams pertain to the April-May and October-November 2024 sessions, with an expected participation of around 10,000 candidates. The proposed date sheet indicates that the exams will commence on February 2, pending government approval. A separate notification will be issued for practical examinations, reported by Amar Ujala Jammu Newspaper.
Transition in Council Responsibilities
The newly constituted Jammu and Kashmir Allied and Healthcare Council is not fully operational yet. Therefore, the upcoming exams will be conducted under the old J&K Paramedical and Nursing Council. As per the regulations, the newly formed council will handle all paramedical exams, while nursing examinations will be overseen by the J&K Nursing Council, which now operates separately. Earlier, both councils functioned jointly.
The 15-member Jammu and Kashmir Allied and Healthcare Council was established on November 19, 2024. Since then, registrations for paramedical courses have been halted under the new council. However, registrations completed before this date remain valid under the old council.
