In a shocking and violent incident that took place Wednesday night, several policemen were injured after being attacked by alleged drug traffickers in the Bari Brahmana area of Samba district. Among the injured was a Station House Officer (SHO), who along with two other officers, was rushed to a hospital in Amritsar in critical condition.

Initial reports indicate that the police team was carrying out an operation in the area when they were suddenly ambushed by a group of criminals who reacted violently.

According to local sources, the police team was patrolling the Balole Khad area, a location known for criminal activity related to drug trafficking. The operation aimed to track down individuals involved in illegal activities as part of an ongoing investigation.

However, things took a drastic turn when the alleged drug traffickers ambushed the police team, attacking them directly. Several officers were injured during the altercation, including the SHO.

The Samba district police have strongly condemned the attack and announced that anti-narcotic operations will be intensified in the region. The incident has raised serious concerns among both authorities and the local population, who fear a rise in drug-related violence in Jammu and Kashmir.

An intensive search operation is underway to apprehend those responsible, who reportedly fled the scene after the ambush.
