Spanning between Koudi and Bakkal villages of district Reasi, the bridge is 1.3 km long. This project has been declared a national project in 2002. It is directed by the Northern Railway.

This massive structure will be built using 24000 tonne of steel.

The 13 metre wide bridge is raised on 18 pillars.

Sufficient to bear weight of 500 tonne and violent winds of speed up to 260 kmph, this bridge would be a true engineering feat of its makers.

It is being assured that the bridge will last for as long as 500 years.

Although the bridge has been constructed in seismic zone-4, yet is being built with standards of SZ-5, a notch higher in earthquake resistance. The bridge is guaranteed to stay strong even if 7 of its pillars are damaged.
