The J&K Rifle Association (JKRA) is going to get an international-standard shooting range at the MA Stadium in Jammu.
With 40 medals in its tally, the JKRA has won 40 medals, including 17 gold medals, since formation of JKRA in 2005.
Although the JKRA has possession of land, they lack funds for erecting required infrastructure. So they have approached MPs, MLAs and also the Sports Authority of India.
A detailed project report of Rs 5.25 crore has been made by the JKRA for building the shooting range with international standards, equipment, rooms for shooters, canteen and other facilities.
It needs to be mentioned that our state already has 11 shooting ranges, namely:
- Kathua District Rifle Association
- Samba District Rifle Association
- Jammu District Rifle Association
- Udhampur District Rifle Association
- Reasi District Rifle Association
- Srinagar District Rifle Association
- Baramulla District Rifle Association
- J&K Shooting Club at Gulshan Ground in Jammu
