The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has released the JKPSC Recruitment 2026 Notification for 205 vacancies in Government Degree Colleges under the Higher Education Department. The recruitment includes Assistant Professor, Librarian, and College Director of Physical Education & Sports posts.

Candidates who are domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir can submit their applications online from 01 August 2026 to 31 August 2026 through the official JKPSC website.

*Assistant Professor vacancies include multiple disciplines such as Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Zoology, English, Commerce, Education, Economics, Geography, Mathematics, Urdu, Dogri, Hindi, Political Science, Psychology, Statistics, History, Home Science, Arabic, Clinical Biochemistry, Computer Application, Functional English, Philosophy, Islamic Studies, Music, Electronics and others.

Subject-wise Assistant Professor Vacancies

Educational Qualification

The qualification differs according to the post.

Assistant Professor

Applicants should possess:

• Master’s Degree with 55% marks (50% for reserved categories wherever applicable).
• NET/SLET/SET qualification.

OR

• PhD under UGC Regulations with NET exemption as applicable.

Candidates from foreign universities ranked among the world’s top 500 are also eligible as per UGC norms.

Assistant Professor (Computer Application)

• Master’s Degree in the relevant subject with 60% marks (relaxation applicable for reserved categories).
• NET/SLET/SET or eligible PhD.

Librarian

Candidates should have:

• Master’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science.
• Knowledge of library computerization.
• NET/SLET/SET or eligible PhD.

College Director of Physical Education & Sports

Applicants must possess:

• Master’s Degree in Physical Education/Sports Science.
• NET/SLET/SET or eligible PhD.

OR

• Asian/Commonwealth Games Medal Winner with a postgraduate degree.

Candidates must also qualify the prescribed physical fitness test.

Age Limit

Age will be calculated as on 01 January 2026.
