Jammu has jumped 39 ranks compared to the last year’s position in Swachh Survekshan. Clearly the city has scored more than any other urban local body of the state.Swachh Survekshan 2018 Jammu cleanest1

The survey is part of the Swachh Bharat Mission and conducted by the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry.

In the survey, 500 cities with population over 1 lakh were selected at national level, while 3541 others with lesser population were given state and regional ranking.

It is worth mentioning that no other city from J&K has even made it to the national list. And the state stands at number 21 in list of 31 Indian states.

The Commissioner of Jammu Municipal Corporation, Ramesh Kumar is satisfied with Jammu getting 212th rank on national level, but aims to make it to the top 10.

The top 10 cities of the country are: Indore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, New Delhi, Vijayawada, Tirupati, Visakhapatanam, Mysore, Navi Mumbai and Pune.
