No more sweet; Duggar to be famous for something hot!

Although the Dogras and Dogri are famous for their sweet nature, very soon Jammu could be famous for its hotness! Don’t get any vague ideas, it is hotness of chillies! Jammu has a climate apt for cultivating chillies

Red and green chillies are a cash crop and are mainly cultivated in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Punjab. Agriculture experts are suggesting that Jammu has a climate apt for cultivating chillies.

According to the Dainik Jagran, chilly cultivation can begin in March-April and continue till August-September. Under favourable conditions, a yield from a farm land of one hectare area can easily earn the farmer 3.5-4 lakh rupees.

Apart from chillies, Jammu has actively started growing organic Basmati rice in some villages of RS Pura. It is worth mentioning that Jammu is already world famous for its Basmati rice which is exported all over the world.

Not only food, flowers too are becoming a speciality of Jammu region. Farmers from Bhaderwah have started growing Lavender flowers which have high medicinal and aromatic value in international market.
