We are not talking about PM Modi’s consistent foreign travels but Modi kites which are in vogue this kite-season in Jammu. There was a time in the 90s when the Akkhdaar Gudda and Bhoot wala Gudda were the most favourites.
Surely we’ve come a long way and Modi has become what Shaktiman once was for young boys and kids. It’s hard to believe that somebody has replaced Nehru ji as the only political leader loved by one and all, including kids.
Love him or hate him, you can not ignore Modi kites flying over your head today. In Jammu, kite flying is an important part of celebrations on Raksha Bandhan. The kite is called Guddi and the string with which it is flown is called ‘Dor’ by the locals.
